Round 1 of the 2024 British F4 E-sports championship saw Mensah Racing Driven By Us Team at the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. It was ultimately a successful first round and has instilled confidence within the team for the rest of the season.
The championship has proved to be more competitive than last season with the inclusion of new F1 affiliated teams Scuderia Ferrari and Alpine. The grid consists of over 30 drivers competing across 8 rounds, held at iconic circuits such as Silverstone and Brands Hatch.
You can access the races on the iRacing.com, Facebook, YouTube and Twitch channels.
Round 1 - Brands Hatch
The season opener of the 2024 season saw the drivers take on the infamous Brands Hatch Circuit, using its Indy course. The circuit has 2 left-hand corners and 5 right-handers across the 1.944km track. The layout provides many opportunities for overtakes and impressive racing.
Race 1 was the beginning of a strong weekend for Matt Caruana who started on the front row placing him in a competitive position for the race. He maintained his pace throughout the race, eventually securing P3, the first podium for the Mensah Racing this season. Teammate Kieran Prendergast also scored points for the team after he finished P15.
Race 2 saw another strong performance for Caruana with him securing a P5 and more important points for Mensah Racing. Prendergast remained consistent finishing P15 again increasing the team’s point haul this weekend.
Due to the strong performances across the weekend, Mensah Racing Driven By Us currently sits P3 in the team’s championship. The team are 45 points behind Scuderia Ferrari highlighting their competitiveness this season so far. In the driver’s championship, Kieran Pendergast sits P16 with Matt Caruana sitting P5.

Round 2 - Zandvoort
Round 2 saw the drivers race at Zandvoort. The circuit is fast and challenging with the unique location providing curves in the track across the dunes. The Dutch track is characterised by the steep banks that contrast the long start-finish straight. The circuit has 14 corners along its relatively short length of 4.3km.
Matt Caruana had an exceptional performance. He began on the second row in P4 but made a great start overtaking Moore who started in P3 before eventually using the double slipstream to overtake Ferrari’s Carroll and Guild Gaming Raikaa on the main straight. These overtakes placed him in the lead of the race. Though he had to defend his position from the competitive grid he ultimately took the Mensah Racing’s maiden win in the championship, which is bound to boost morale in the team. Race 1 was difficult for Kieran Pendergast as he wasn't able to finish the full race length.
Race 2 proved to be more difficult for the team. Pendergast finished P13 still securing some important points for the championship. Due to the reverse grid, Caruana started in a less competitive position for the race eventually finishing P21, out of the points.
Despite this, the team took away a strong point haul of 54 points strengthening their position of P3 in the championship, 40 points from Scuderia Ferrari who sit P2. After his win Matt Caruana is firmly in the title fight, sitting P3 with Kieran Pendergast sitting P21.
The next round will see the drivers tackle the Snetterton 300 circuit on the 16th of October.
