GKL - Round 5 - Podium at Hooton Park

DBU Academy Driver Aaron Mensah Secures Podium Finish in FAT Karting League Round 5 at Hooton Park!

The GKL:UK team hosted an exceptional race event at Hooton Park, marked by a collaboration with sustainable racing partners. This round introduced a new element, with drivers selecting karts through a randomised allocation process, adding an exciting twist.

DBU Drivers displayed impressive pace throughout the event, with Nathan showcasing remarkable speed during practice sessions.

On race day, Nathan continued his strong performance in qualifying, securing 2nd place just one-tenth of a second off the pole position. Despite an anticipated pole finish, a mistake on his final lap placed him in 2nd.

In Nationals grouping, our 3 drivers qualified in 8th, 10th, and 13th positions, respectively. In both the pre-final and final races, Aaron exhibited advanced race craft and strategic manoeuvres, ultimately earning a 3rd place podium finish. 

Nathan concluded the race in a commendable 6th place, while Babacar and Sienna finished 10th and 15th, respectively, after encountering track incidents.
